Welcome to 316 Running!
Co-ed Running  Ages 9-12 Cost is $50
Starts on Thursday September 6th-October 25 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Running Program will meet Thursdays
There will be no program on Thursday Sept 27th, or October 25 2018
Running will meet those dates on Tuesday Sept 25 and Tuesday October 23 2018

Location 316 Soccer Fields at FBCIT

Description: This is an introductory running club, which consists of how to properly stretch, warm-up, race, and cool-down after a workout or race. We will also get into basic nutrition for runners (there are some differences than other athletes). Runners will need to also run on their own at home 2-3 times each week. 

Goal: To be able to race 1 mile hard, and not just complete 1 mile. The goal should be to race a mile (most states that have elementary running, have the race distance at 1 mile).
Equipment Includes: T-shirt
Parents Responsibility:athletic clothes, socks, shoes, water bottle, appropriate clothes for whatever weather is that day (cold, hot, rainy?)…Shorts, t-shirt, running shoes and a stop watch would be nice (but not required)

Evaluations will be at the first practice: Kids will run a mile at the beginning to see where they are physically, and then race a mile at the end of the 8-week period to see how much they’ve improved (the key will be running 2-3 times per week outside of the time they meet each week). 
PLEASE NOTE:  HEALTH INSURANCE IS REQUIRED FOR EACH PLAYER TO PARTICIPATE IN 316-SPORTS.
